The Role:

The Brand Team, based at our Brand Marketing Headquarters in Crawley, is looking to recruit an Senior Brand Executive with experience in retail marketing to join its existing team of 6 (3x Marketeers, 2x Press Car Technicians and 1x Designer). 

As the Senior Brand Executive you will support the Brand Team with the implementation of Caterham’s Global Brand Plan.

Acting as the point person for all of Caterham's retailers, you'll be responsible for managing their relationship with the Brand team as well as creating and overseeing the execution of Caterham's trade marketing plan. Creating brand-centric campaigns you'll promote Caterham's full product portfolio (new and used car sales, aftersales services, parts and merchandise) international with a view to deliver incremental sales focusing on things like finance offerings and its retail programme Caterham Signature.

Utilising Caterham's communication platforms, you'll devise content for use across e-mail, web and social media to assist in creating awareness of these campaigns, driving footfall and enquiries through to Caterham's retail network.

Duties and responsibilities:

Retail Marketing 

  • Support the flow of communication between Caterham’s Brand Marketing Team and its global retailers.
  • Participate in monthly retailer meetings, sharing plans for the period ahead and success stories.
  • Be the ‘go-to-marketeer’ for retailers globally.
  • Input into the creation of a global retail marketing plan, comprised of campaigns designed to drive awareness of Caterham’s full product portfolio and oversee its execution.
  • With the support of agency and design resource generate a suite of marketing assets for use by retailers which support the promotion of the global retailer plan in store and online.
  • Carry out the education of the retail network, including but not limited to brand inductions, tools, and systems.
  • Provide a monthly report against KPIs to the Brand Team.
  • Administer the marketing mailbox, ensuring all retailer communications are responded to within 36 hours
  • Carry out regular updates and maintenance of the Dealer Portal ensuring retailers have access to the latest marketing materials.

Communications Management 

  • Lead the creation of Caterham’s communications plan overseeing its execution and delivery against agreed KPIs.
  • Observing the brand’s communication pillars and previous audience insights take full accountability for the creation of content ensuring an appropriate balance between leisure and commercial.
  • Maximise the amount of traffic driven by communications to owned platforms with the intent to convert to sale.
  • Manage Caterham’s content plan ensuring every communication is represented within it including press releases, web articles, social communications and e-mail marketing.
  • Ensure content created observes both visual guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Create assets for use in content using either agency or design resource to ensure content is as engaging as possible.
  • Operate and administer the ‘best practices’ document updating it regularly reflect changing audience consumption habits and pillar preferences.
  • Provide regular insights feedback to the wider brand marketing team surrounding audience behaviours and attitudes to the brand and its products.
  • Draw from expertise around the business to build a pipeline of content such as Engineering, Aftersales and retailers.
  • Actively monitor competitor activity and provide feedback based on insights.
  • Commit to driving the overall reach of communications through both organic and paid audience base growth.

Knowledge and technical skill requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years of marketing experience with a recognisable brand, with experience in more than one of the required key subjects (brand communications, events, online, etc.)
  • Degree in business, marketing or communications, or with equivalent experience in a brand management or communication role
  • Experience working with social aggregating and broadcasting tools (e.g ContentCal or Hootsuite)
  • Experience working with E-mail broadcast tools (e.g. Mailchimp) 
  • Experience working with car retailer network an advantage
  • Knowledge of e-commerce and online retail marketing 
  • Experience working within a marketing agency an advantage
  • Highly communicative character, team player, very creative driver of projects, who is personable and outgoing
  • An understanding of marketing asset production such as photography and video
  • Exceptional attention to detail and copywriting skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Very good PC skills (in particular Microsoft Office)
  • Interest in premium and niche automotive brands and motorsport is helpful


A salary of £26k- £30k is available subject to experience and skill level. After a probationary period a range of benefits such as eligibility to join the company pension scheme and staff purchase discounts.
